Daphne Sweet (b. 1996, Los Angeles, CA) is a contemporary artist based in Butte, Montana, whose practice spans painting and ceramics. Drawing from a profound engagement with the cultural and personal mythologies of the American West, Sweet’s work interrogates themes of femininity, identity, and power. Her distinct visual language combines intricate line work with bold, symbolic color, offering a reimagining of traditional western iconography through a feminist lens.

Sweet’s artistic perspective is deeply influenced by her matriarchal upbringing and living in Montana , both of which inform her approach to revisiting and redefining western narratives. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art and Art History from the University of Montana. Sweet’s work has been exhibited nationally, including solo exhibitions at Visions West Contemporary (Denver, CO) and The Palace Gallery (Ellensburg, WA), and has been featured in prominent publications such as DARIA Magazine and The Washington Post.
